Landscape Vision
The vision for the Jubilee Estate landscape vernacular is to restore the natural Eastern Cape fynbos and Coastal Forest as a landscape theme in an appropriate suburban context. Native vegetation, colour, light texture and contrast unique to the Eastern Cape will set the tones for the landscape vernacular that respects and enhances natural resources

Objective
To create a series of landscape themes which will create and define different landscape spaces. The landscape elements within each theme will help the user to read and understand the context of the space they enter and use

The Grand Boulevard
The Grand Boulevard will define the main public entrance and access into Jubilee estates. This will be the first impression of Jubilee estates and therefore will be bold but integrated into the natural environment. The street and median will be lined with trees which will guide the user into the estate to the public recreation node.

The Estate Spine Road
The spine road will guide the vehicle user through Jubilee and will link the village. The spine road will have the same character throughout Jubilee lakes to create a sense of hierarchy as the major route in Jubilee Lakes. The spine road will form a tree canopy and will be open as the user enters a village identification code.

The Pocket Parks
The pocket parks will be blended into the natural environment within the village. These parks will serve as the village green areas and space for play and social interactions. Parks will be manicures, maintained and linked to the passive recreation area.

The Village Identification Nodes
The village identification nodes will all be authentic and multi functional. The identification nodes will break the spine roads and become the entry point into the village. The identification nodes will incorporate the landscape elements which brand the village and give each unit its unique character

Agricultural Open Spaces
The agricultural open spaces will transform a transition zone and link the different villages. This will create and enhance a country feel as the user moves through olive groves, vines and lavender fields.

Wildlife Habitat and Eco-Corridors
The village will be surrounded and infiltrated by the natural environment. The natural areas will form eco-corridors which will link the manicured parks with the natural environment. Environmental rehabilitation (and habitat enhancement) will take place in these areas by the reintroduction of the endemic natural fynbos. These open spaces will be natural in character and will house activities such as bird watching, hiking and recreational fishing.

Water Bodies
The existing water bodies will be embraced and enhanced. The water bodies will be incorporated in the open spaces and be part of the integrated and intricate water system on site.
